Sade’s ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ Track “Flower of the Universe” is Here

About two weeks ago, the internet went into a crazed frenzy after A Wrinkle in Time director Ava DuVernay, shared the special news that Sade, after a seven-year hiatus, was returning to the music scene with an original song for the film titled “Flower of the Universe.”

The icon’s No I.D. produced record is finally here, and premiered exclusively on Okay Player right before midnight. DuVernay tweeted,  “A late-night treat for all you Flowers of the Universe. My thanks to No I.D. And thank you to @SadeOfficial. You are a queen and a visionary and we love you. #WrinkleInTime.” On “Flower of the Universe,” Sade lends her deep, dreamy vocals over the beautiful track. And as Okay Player describes, Sade is the “obvious star of the song.”

The soundtrack to A Wrinkle in Time set to drop digitally on March 9, the same release date of the film, also features original music from several artists including  DJ Khaled, Kehlani, Chloe x Halle, Sia, and Demi Lovato. A Wrinkle in Time is a live action adaptation based on Madeleine L’Engle’s the 1962 science fantasy novel. The film stars Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, and Storm Reid, who plays the role of the main character, Meg Murry.
