Earlier this year social media was in an uproar over the video of a woman that was abused by police officers at a Waffle House in Alabama. The woman, Chikeshia Clemons, was recorded attempting to understand the reason for her arrest prior to being choked and parts of her body being exposed. She is now found guilty of disorderly conduct.
Clemons was ruled to be in the legal parameters of disorderly conduct by Judge Mark Irwin and is supposed to pay $400 for the ordeal; $200 in fines and $200 in court fees. WKRG in Alabama states Clemons was also sentenced to 10 days in jail, however, they were suspended for 1 year of informal probation.
Prior to the verdict, supporters for Clemons and supporters brought petitions that featuring 50 thousand signatures in request of a drop of all charges.
Clemons spoke out against the ruling on Twitter: “My heart is full of rage and anger!!! Lord please help me!!!!”
Clemons has already filed the appeal.
