If you are purchasing one of the New Los Angeles Lakers jerseys featuring LeBron James name and number you may notice a different design. The trademark purple and gold of the Lake Show will bring the drop shadow of lettering back to its design for the first time since 1999.
Jerseys were leaked in New York City at a story called Modell’s in Times Square who requested the jerseys be removed from the sales floor. They weren’t quick enough though, a picture was snapped and hit social media courtesy of Hoops Hype.
Back at the top of the month, the Lakers revealed there will be a new jersey design and they are set to be revealed on July 30. The drop shadow wasn’t heavily present in the Kobe Bryant years and would have to be traced back to when Magic Johnson himself was running the point in LA. Check out the leaked image below and let us know will you cop a King James Los Angeles jersey.
So apparently the Lakers are getting a new uniform design. How convenient. pic.twitter.com/36m1S2cDNi

Source: The NBA contacted the Modell’s at Times Square, asking them to remove these uniforms from the floor. But someone captured a photo, showing the Lakers will include drop shadow on their numbers for the first time since 1999.
