The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the most heralded and well-run organizations in the National Football League. They are known for their stability and their championship pedigree. But this past season has been one the most controversial seasons in the history of the Steelers organization. From their standoff against star running back Le’Veon Bell who wanted a longer, more lucrative contract, to imploding in the middle of the season, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2103, now, star wider receiver Antonio Brown has reportedly requested to be traded.
According to a tweet sent by the NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora, Antonio Brown has requested a trade, detailing his issues with head coach Mike Tomlin and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
Antonio Brown has requested a trade. Im told it was not a demand but he has asked to be dealt. Very unlikely Rooney would capitulate. Brown has issues with Mike Tomlin and Ben Roethlisberger. Feels like the coach is too aligned with the QB.

Brown was noticeably absent in Sunday’s season finale against their division rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals. Reports allege that Brown’s rocky relationship with Roethlisberger, which he allegedly threw a football at him during a team meeting, was the sole reason he ditched practice. His missing practice caused him to be disciplined by Coach Tomlin.
It remains to be seen if Antonio Brown is serious about leaving the Steel City. If he is, it is extremely unlikely that the front office of the Pittsburgh Steelers would move him.
This coming offseason will be quite an interesting one for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
