If you’re living under the rock, we are currently in the second-longest government shutdown which began on December 22nd.
At least 800,000 federal workers are showing up to work every day without getting paid and without a clue when the shutdown will end. But there are a group of government workers trying to find the silver lining in the grey cloud.
Passengers flying through John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City tweeted about hearing songs that wouldn’t typically play at the airport. The uncensored version of Travis Scott’s Drake-assisted hit single, “Sicko Mode,” as well as Kanye West’s “Lift Yourself” were blasting through the loudspeakers.
A spokesperson for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey told Business Insider that TSA and airline employees have control over the playlist and certain locations.
Apparently, the playlist also included Ludacris, Beastie Boys, and Paramore.
