Jussie Smollett turned himself into the Chicago Police early Thursday morning (Feb. 21). The Empire actor will have a court date at 1 p.m. Central time. It has been revealed that he also sent himself the threatening letter. The reason for all of this is because he was “dissatisfied with his salary.”
The press and people of Chicago were updated by Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson, stating that Smollett disrespected an entire city who embraced him as one of their own.
“I’m also concerned about what this means moving forward for hate crimes,” Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson says.
