Rapper JP Cali Smoov grew up in LA and spent part of his life in Chicago but is a West Coast Rapper. Cali is well known in the battle rap world where he worked with Snoop Dogg, Mally Mall and Dizaster. He has also collaborated musically with Wiz Khalifa, DJ Quik, Edi Mean, Rico Recklezz and more. As a kid, Cali was in and out of foster care and group homes, defending himself.
At the age of 11, he was discovered by Leila Steinberg – the same woman who managed and mentored Tupac; who helped Cali find his voice and purpose. Not long after, Cali changed his life around and committed himself to making music and inspiring other at-risk youth. Cali travels around the US and the world to encourage at risk-youth and help them find their own voices.
Cali Smoov was the winner of Snoop Dogg’s battle rap show (YouTube/Trapflix) where he out-rapped 11 other aspiring rappers. In 2017, he collaborated with platinum artist ‘Wiz Khalifa’ on “This is Your Moment,” which reached #1 on the iTunes Hip Hop charts. In 2018, his poetry book, “Untold, Heard and Unwritten” reached #16 on Amazon’s poetry Best Sellers List.
Smoov also took on roles as an aspiring actor. He’s appeared in multiple national commercials, independent films and appeared in Eminem’s film, “Bodied.” He is the creator and owner of Black Sheep Club, an urban clothing line. Forever and Bad Bitches are the first two commercial single releases for Cali on Virgo 21 Entertainment/TriNick Entertainment distributed by Roc Nation.
