Following the Baltimore Ravens blowout win against the Los Angeles Rams, All-Pro Rams Cornerback Jalen Ramsey and All-Pro cornerback Marcus Peters exchanged some words. Fans remember Peters was traded to the Ravens from the Rams earlier this season before the Rams traded for his eventual replacement in Jalen Ramsey.
In a video captured by cameras after the game, Ramsey is seen walking up to Peters who is embracing a Rams coach before Peters steps to Ramsey after an inaudible exchange. Ramsey is pulled away from the situation and walked all the way to the locker room to avoid further confrontation.
It seems that the issue may have come after Marcus Peters intercepted Jared Goff in the 4th quarter. Following the pick, Peters was caught on the sideline appearing to yell Jalen’s name as a taunt to his replacement.
Ramsey refused to comment on the situation during post-game interviews.
It seems as though the Rams did Peters a favor by trading him this season. Not only do the Baltimore Ravens look like Super Bowl contenders behind favored MVP Lamar Jackson, but Peters seems to have hit a stride being in Baltimore. Since his debut in purple and black, Peters has 3 interceptions including one against his former QB Jared Goff last night and 30 total tackles.
As for Ramsey, it seems he may have stepped into a new bad situation similar to the one he left in Jacksonville. The Rams are not the same Super Bowl team from last year and the addition of Jalen Ramsey hasn’t shown any immediate results. The Rams are now in serious jeopardy of not making the playoffs at 6-5 in a division where the San Francisco 49ers are 10-1 and the Seattle Seahawks are 9-2.
Ramsey is expecting a major contract from the Rams after this season, but with so many big contracts and a lack of high draft picks the Rams could see tough roads in years to come.
