Ques The Hood Favorite Delivers Truthful Music for Mature Listeners who Crave Substance

The artist Ques the Hood Favorite is reshaping Hip Hop music by crafting his own distinctive sound. With his mixture of laid-back lyrics, melodic R&B hooks and a hint of Neo Soul, Ques is exploding onto the music scene with a new single, a mixtape and a debut album.

As a native of Wilmington, Delaware and an Arizona resident, his bi-coastal lifestyle uniquely positions him to create music that is relatable to both sides of the country. Writing from the heart, Ques is putting out music for mature audiences who still love Hip Hop but want to hear meaningful music which shares valid points about life.

The single, “Nothing to Lose” is the first release from the upcoming album. “Nothing to Lose” is a short description of the trials and tribulations that Ques went through growing up as a young man, which lead to the man he is today. The song’s chill vibe and relevant lyrics guarantee its appeal.

The album, “The Maturation” will feature between 12 and 14 tracks covering many different topics from the artist’s life experiences. Described by Ques as “a more soulful, laid back approach to the street aspect,” his soothing and smooth deliverance of issues, ranging from relationships to being a better parent, give this perspective to an audience that is typically leary of such subjects. The album was recorded in Wilmington in collaboration with Waterboy, a Producer, Engineer and Singer Ques has worked with several times over the years.

Before “The Maturation” is released, Ques will drop his mixtape, “PMS” (Positivity Maturity Success) within the next week. The mixtape features a track with his son, Mercy 700. “Nothing” shares the story of Ques being separated from his son and then getting back to him to rekindle the bond between father and son.

Growing up in the inner city of Wilmington, Ques experienced all the trappings of street life. As an escape, he expressed himself through rhyming while listening to Soul Music of the 70s and 80s. He was influenced by artists such as Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, AZ, Jay Z, Notorious B.I.G, 2PAC, and NAS, and eventually studied under the late Walter “Bunny” Sigler. Ques began his music career as Ques-Gin in a group called “2 of a Kind.” Years later, he went solo as Ques the Hood Favorite. During his career, as a solo artist and within the group Ques has opened up for various artists from Ruff Ryders, Roc-a-fella, Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Tank, 112 and Big Daddy Kane.

As co-owner of a record label with partner Ms. Tanya Williams of “Maturation Entertainment,” Ques’ goal is to increase the label’s success to a point where he is able to give back to the community that he grew up in. He is passionate about helping the local children to become successful and productive members of society, and he endeavors to lead by example. “When we make it,” Ques said, “it will be a beacon of hope for them because they know me.”

Ques is poised to deliver his sophisticated style to adult audiences with ultramodern music and a new music video that is out titled “Nothing To Lose”. He said “let the world adjust and adapt to the new sound that I’m about to bring to the game so that they can be prepared for this influx that they’re going to receive.”
