According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, both Wilder and Fury are expected to earn $5 million purses tonight.
In addition, “Bronze Bomber” and “Gypsy King” are being guaranteed a grand total of $25 million each. The heavyweights will also receive a percentage of the pay-per-view profits.
The undefeated heavyweights, Deontay Wilder (42-0-1, 41 KO) and Tyson Fury (29-0-1, 20 KOs), have made the division electric again.
However, other heavyweights like current champion Anthony Joshua earned $60 million for his rematch against Andy Ruiz, Jr.
With the welterweight division popularly being called the “money weight” division for current and former champions like Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, the heavyweights are slowly creeping up the ladder.
Wilder was guaranteed $20 million for his last fight against Luis Ortiz and Fury made $1 million guaranteed for his last fight against Otto Wallin.
At their last fight in 2018, Wilder made a guaranteed $4 million while Fury took home a guaranteed $3 million. However, after PPV buys, ticket sales, and merchandise revenue, Wilder earned roughly $14 million and Fury $10.25 million.
