Covington and JJ are members of American Top Team based in Coconut Creek, Florida. The South Florida based gym has a pantheon of champions like Tyron Woodley, Robbie Lawler and King Mo.

“Colby Covington is a lower class act man and that’s the thing, you know?”

Covington (15-2) made waves with his extreme support of Donald Trump and costume of MAGA hat and his interim welterweight championship belt. Covington turned his UFC 245 unification bout against Kamaru Usman into a pre-fight spectacle with buffet brawls in Vegas and over the top disrespectful statements.

He and fellow teammate, Jorge Masvidal have taken the sport by storm as much for their charisma and their fighting style.

“We all support each other. The owners, managers and coaches put in tons of work to keep us together like a family. That’s why we are so successful.

“Two years in a row we won the award ‘Gym Of The Year’ at Fighter’s Only (Awards). We have great coaches with a great history, great athletes representing our team in the best organizations in the world. We don’t have to love each other but we should support each other for the colors we represent.”

Jedrzejczyk returns to action this Saturday at UFC 248 as the co-main event against UFC strawweight champion, Zhang Weili. The fight is at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
