NCAA Men’s and Women’s Tournaments Will Not Have Fans in Attendance

With Selection Sunday revealing the NCAA bracket on Sunday, fans are learning that everyone will have to watch from home due to the coronavirus.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania tweeted both the men’s and women’s tournaments will be held without fans. The only people allowed in the arenas during the games aside from the teams are essential staff and there will be limited family attendance.

ESPN also delivers a report from Ohio which states Governor Mike Dewine will issue an order against “mass gatherings” due to the coronavirus outbreak. The order will affect NCAA games in Cleveland and Dayton. The order will arrive in the next 24 to 36 hours.

“The order will be that there cannot be spectators there,” DeWine said. “There certainly will be people — there will be TV people, there can be radio people there, there can be sports writers, certainly can be the media there. But we’re not going to have the large crowd.”
