Jay-Z’s Made in America 2020 Officially Canceled Due to COVID-19 Outbreak

Another music festival planned for 2020 has been canceled, this time in the form of Jay-Z’s Made in America festival. The announcement came roughly two months before the concert takes place in Philadelphia.

Made in America will instead take place Labor Day Weekend 2021 in the city of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection. In a statement, M.I.A. cited the coronavirus outbreak as well as the necessary attention to social reform as the reasons for the cancellation.

“Now is the time to protect the health of our artists, fans partners and community as well as focus on our support for organizations and individuals fighting social justice and equality in our country.”

For those who already purchased their tickets, they’ll still be honored for the new September 2021 date. Refunds have also been made available.

Made in America is just one of several concerts that have been canceled due to COVID-19. The biggest event of them all, Coachella originally pushed back the concert date to October but last month decided to cancel it altogether.
