Meet 24-year-old Shawn Germain: a multi-faceted businessman most commonly recognized for being “DJ Shawn G” and the CEO of two successful companies in New York City.
At 20 years old, Germain founded Today’s Tomorrow; an event management company that produces and develops a variety of shows across the United States. With the responsibility of CEO, Germain single-handedly takes care of the venue, the talent, the management details, the finances, and the promotion for each event. According to his future plans, the company hopes to expand within the next year and possibly host a few shows overseas.
Shawn’s second company, Tomorrow’s Group, is a marketing agency that currently manages over 40 social media accounts for a wide variety of clients. The total following for all accounts adds up to approximately 30 million. Both his businesses are based out of New York City, which also happens to be his hometown and current city of residence.
When taking into account an ongoing pandemic and the risk of COVID-19 worldwide, he admits it has been difficult for his event company, but not impossible to overcome. “Everything still feels off… Still feels weird. But I’m looking forward to bouncing back and putting on the next wave of shows for everyone who’s been stuck at home,” he shares.
As of now, all upcoming events have been cancelled or postponed indefinitely. Although uncertain about the date of the company’s comeback, Shawn is confident he will make the extended wait worthwhile for his concert attendees once it is safe to do so.
In the meantime, while he continues to adapt his lifestyle to the recent radical changes, he maintains an on-the-go mentality with his companies and his side gigs. Whenever he’s not fulfilling responsibilities for Today’s Tomorrow and Tomorrow’s Group, he’s managing campaigns and day-to-day operations for Roc Nation artist Casanova. A pandemic doesn’t seem to stop the grind.
“I would have never guessed this would be my life at 24 years old,” Shawn says. “Growing up, I didn’t come from a lot. I mean, we always had enough, but I always said I’d make a better lifestyle for myself. And I’ve worked for it. I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next.”
