Dwayne Johnson has been a man of the people for along time. As a wrestler, he deemed himself “The People’s Champion,” and now he seems to be leaving his 2032 presidential bid in the hands of the people as well.
Johnson has been floating around the idea of running for President of The United States for quite some time now. In a recent interview with USA Today while promoting his newly launched NBC show, Young Rock, Johnson said that he would consider running for President in 2032 if it’s what the people want.
“I would consider a presidential run in the future if that’s what the people wanted,” the wrestler turned action movie star said. “Truly I mean that, and I’m not flippant in any way with my answer. That would be up to the people…So I would wait, and I would listen. I would have my finger on the pulse, my ear to the ground,” he added.
The Rock is not new to politics. He spoke at the Republican National Convention in 2000, and voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012. He has been a registered independent since 2017 and endorsed Joe Biden for his 2020 Presidential bid. In 2017 he said that running for POTUS is a “real possibility.
