When Instagram first launched in 2010, it was just a platform for sharing photos and videos with friends. Now, it is one of the most powerful social media platforms, that allows for the possibility of incredible networking and revenue opportunities. According to a recent report from TAKUMI, 37% of Instagram users interact with influencers, so companies are increasingly hiring influencers as a result. Contrary to popular belief, brands and businesses don’t just work with celebrity influencers. According to a 2020 survey conducted by Influencer Marketing Hub, almost 50% of influencer marketing spending goes to micro-influencers.
With more than 500,000 active influencers on Instagram, many people believe that it is nearly impossible to stand out. However, Jenifer Blanco proves doubters wrong. Born and raised in Maryland, Blanco has managed to grow her fan base to over 400k in only four months.
What’s more impressive is that all of her followers were gained organically. This means that Blanco didn’t use any paid advertising or sponsored posts to boost her following.
Now, Blanco shares her tips and advice for success, hoping to inspire others to start working on their goals, and make their own dreams come true.
The first piece of advice Jen Blanco has for fans and aspiring models is to never give up.
“I am aware that this sounds like a cliché, but if you have a vision or passion for something, you shouldn’t give up, no matter how hard it gets. You will figure it out and be successful if you’re willing to work hard for it,” Blanco says.
Blanco knows that one of the most significant challenges of becoming an influencer is growing one’s fan base. She shares that the first step to gaining followers is good networking:
“If I were to give anyone tips on how to grow their following, it would be to network and connect with people in your field of interest, and gain more knowledge on how they expanded their [own] brand or name,” Blanco says.
Blanco also points out that consistent posting is the key to success:
“When I first started, I [paid] for ads to get my account some attention, but [I] quickly realized that I didn’t need to. I started my TikTok account, and almost all of my videos went viral. With my videos doing so well, I realized it was necessary to post consistently to keep up the traction. It helped my page get [so] much attention and clicks,” Blanco says.
After only a year in the Instagram modeling industry, Blanco has already managed to achieve great success. In the near future, Jen Blanco hopes to have a thriving YouTube channel, which will allow her audience to get to know her on a much more personal level. She also plans to surround herself with more influencers to further her career.
