DaBaby Promised Promoters to Release An Apology Video Prior to Lollapalooza Set but Didn’t Follow Through

This past weekend DaBaby was scheduled to perform at Lollapalooza. The “Suge” rapper was in hot water after making homophonic comments at Rolling Loud a week before and had already been dropped from one festival. Billboard reports representatives for DaBaby reached out to seven fall festivals that booked him, along with Lolla, and promised to film an apology before he hit the stage in Chicago.

DaBaby would then miss the deadline and his “apology” that he tweeted was the only one that remained. “I ain’t trippin on y’all, do you. y’all business is y’all business,” DaBaby tweeted.

The video was never released and DaBaby proceeded to drop, setting off a string of schedule adjustments including Governors Bal, DAy N Vegas, iHeartRadio, ACL Fest, and more. DaBaby still has bookings for Hot 97 Summer Jam and an August show in Kansas.

“I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made,” DaBaby said in a formal apology. “Again, I apologize for my misinformed comments about HIV/AIDS and I know education on this is important. Love to all. God bless.”
