Music is often considered one of the most powerful languages in the world. It can touch the heart through a message without even conveying a word. Over the last few decades, music has evolved through a sea of changes, thanks to the advent of computers and technology. With a fresh crop of fearless musicians who don’t hesitate to experiment, the technical advancement had left a trail of positive transformations in the music industry.
Music producer Elevated is a great example. Elevated, whose real name is Jonathan Olorunfemi, became famous from his YouTube channel of the same name that gained crazy popularity for his unique style of music. Elevated started producing music at 12 years old, when he barely had the right equipment. With an old laptop that had Fl Studio, he went on creating music with the demos he had. He would spend his time watching BET and would rewind a song repeatedly in an attempt to reproduce it from what he could hear. Back then it was simply a fun hobby for him and now Bill feels the childhood game has helped him build the passion to shape his career.
Growing up, Elevated nourished his childhood game as his passion and moved on to Logic Pro X from FI studio when he reached college. He started composing beats and uploaded them on YouTube to sell them. While launching his YouTube channel, Bill came up with the name “Elevated” which was inspired by other music channels like Hyyer Education, Majestic Casual, 88rising, etc. He was an avid listener of these music channels. He chose to keep his real name a secret and instead wanted to be known as “Elevated”.
As his YouTube channel started growing, Elevated became a popular music artist. He started working with popular artists and finally entered the mainstream music industry as a producer. So far, Elevated has worked with top artists of the entertainment world like Central Cee, Fredo, Giggs, Jorja Smith, Jay1, Yxng Bane, and Ynw Melly to name a few. Many of his compositions with some of the renowned artists from the industry are already in the pipeline waiting due for release in 2022.
Elevated accomplished a milestone in his career with his first mainstream project. It was Octavian’s mixtape “Spaceman”. Elevated composed most of the beats on YouTube. When the music was produced, the artist immediately wanted to connect with Elevated for more projects. It marked the beginning of Elevated’s career as a music producer.
To date, Elevated has produced different types of music but his biggest accomplishment is composing the music for the documentary “The Outsiders,” directed by Simon Frederick. He had to move outside his comfort zone to showcase his talent as a music composer and it worked. As much as he loved the documentary, he also felt honored to be a part of such a project that helped him grow as an artist.
His career hit a downward curve during the beginning of 2020 as the onset of the pandemic had devastated the world. With shows and concerts stalled for an indefinite period, Elevated started his record shop as a pandemic project to encourage other aspiring artists.
Elevated feels his journey has just started and he has more to offer to the industry and music lovers globally. He wants to work with more A-lister artists, learning from them while inspiring others to walk his path.
