Meet LaChaleur: A NYC Artist Blending Genres to Create Outstanding Music

Music is spiritual – the music industry is not. The space is extremely saturated with talent, making it unwelcoming to any fresh artist unless they have a unique sense of music. The industry is more than just glitzy stage performances, insane fan followings, and financial success. An artist has to truly excel in their craft to penetrate the industry and become known. One such example is LaChaleur, who is set to storm the industry with his refined cross-genre compositions. Originally an Ivorian, LaChaleur is making a difference by staying connected to his roots through his art.

LaChaleur is the stage name of Diomande Elliott, a budding musician brought up in the Bronx, New York. Originally from the Ivory Coast in Africa, the artist has maintained his connection to his roots by adopting the name “LaChaleur.” French is a common dialect among Ivorians, so he chose this name which in French means “The Heat.” True to his stage name, LaChaleur has a sense of music that is unconventional and unique. He often adds a word or two in French to pep up his tracks, which instantly proves his flair for music.

Over the years, LaChaleur has developed his talent in cross-genre music. A fashion enthusiast with a passion for music, he creates compositions that stand out from his contemporaries in the industry. He blends rock with West African beats to create cutting-edge yet easy-on-the-ear music. His appearance in high-end urban wear complements his electrifying performances, invoking an adrenaline rush in his listeners. He is one artist who can infuse everything he loves into his music and instantly connects with the audience.

LaChaleur started his musical journey several years back as a freestyle vocalist in a duo group. He achieved his first milestone as an artist by performing at a Nigerian award show. LaChaleur has also delivered enthralling opening performances for renowned artists like P Square, Sarkodie, and Tekno. He also has a few records to his name as a producer. He has produced music for top artists like Efya, Asap Ferg, Desiigner, 147 Cal boy, 27 Delly, Hassirv, Q Da Fool, and Mac Sauce. Some of the tracks have already become hits, while a few are in the pipeline waiting to be released.

Throughout his career in the music industry, consistency has been the biggest challenge for LaChaleur. As an artist brimming with energy, he has struggled to focus on music and often discovers himself engrossed in other projects. He is currently working on his shortcomings, trying to keep himself focused on music in some way to stay productive.

The artist also lives with the regret of having performed for others, scaling up their careers. He never thought about his own recognition. Performing in a group didn’t bring him the much-deserved limelight as an artist, but he is content with the fact that he has given his best to every performance. Today he feels that all these experiences have contributed to his growth as an artist.

While LaChaleur is excited to roll out his independent music, this is not the only thing he is planning for the future. He wants to launch his own music label to help more budding artists like him find a place in the industry.
