Baby Tate releases a new hit single “Pedi” with production from none other than the iconic duo Yellow Trash Can and Casperdoitagain. Versatile, experimental, and nostalgic are 3 words that come to mind when listening to my new favorite band. The Band/Production duo has been making waves across the internet since the release of their first single “Populated” back in 2020. With a quick rise to stardom Yellow Trash Can has been gaining traction not only for their nostalgic alt-rock records but for their modern production work on many major artists’ projects.
With placements on BlocBoy JB’s most recent album “FatBoy” and an upcoming collab project in the works with legend ILoveMakonnen, the release of “Pedi” by Baby Tate marks only the start of mainstream production from these young stars.
This iconic duo is made up of artists Jordan Devin and Jason Navarrete. Based out of both Portland and Los Angeles, the west coast energy can be clearly heard in the music. In an era where so many people are attempting to make a career in music, it can be hard to find new artists or producers who stand out amongst the masses. Yellow Trash Can has been able to display their talent to the world and make their mark in such a short period of time, the dedicated work ethic has manifested in a very nice momentum for the band.
“Pedi” is a fast-paced Hip-Hop banger, very different from the sound heard on Yellow Trash Can singles. The versatility and variety of the band’s production style is truly displayed in this track. As genres slowly begin to mesh together and it becomes harder and harder to label and distinguish between specific genres, artists like this who aren’t afraid to experiment have a major opportunity. Ever since the early 2000’s music has taken a major turn in cross blending genres, and has made it almost impossible to pin artists like this down to any one specific sound.
Yellow Trash Can and Casper are going to follow up the release of “Pedi” with a new single on November 26th entitled “Killer”. This song will feature melancholy guitar waves and vocals from both bandmates. This release will reintroduce fans to the much-missed nostalgic alternative rock style that brought worldwide attention to the band in the first place. As 2021 comes to a close make sure you keep an eye out for a ton of new music from the trashiest band on the planet.
