As hip-hop has grown into America’s biggest entertainment export, the lines between genres continue to blur. What used to be clear stylistic differences of delivery from rap, to rock, to pop have become synonymous all across the board. BABYG, a South Floridian hitmaker, has been using this newfound freedom to his advantage.
On tracks such as “introspective” and “Too Obvious”, BABYG displays his ability as a lyricist and emcee in the current field of rap music. However, his ability to switch into soft rock-like tones on songs such as “don’t call 4 me freestyle”, is probably one of his biggest draws as an artist. From rapping to singing to humming in between, none of his stylistic choices take away from the imminent attention that his unique voice commands.
There is no genre that BABYG cannot seem to attack. But don’t take our word for it, listen for yourself below!
