When asked about what inspires his music and sound, AD22 said that he listens to lots of different genres and people that influence him.
“I am an avid listener,” said AD22. “I enjoy listening to music from a lot of different genres. I found that listening to genres outside of the framework of the music that I create to be really inspiring and a good way to maintain originality. Some of my major influences that drove me to pursue music were Jay Z, Nipsey Hussle, Drake, and Santan Dave who I had the pleasure of meeting, where he provided me with motivating advice.”
AD22 has turned his past challenges and adversities into a great music career by using music to recover from them. AD22 is a forward-thinking musician that blends his musical inspirations to ultimately establish himself in a lane of his own. “Night Shift” is unquestionably the beginning of an exciting year for AD22 and fans alike, preparing to release a full album in the near future. “It’s very important to experience life as an artist,” he said. “I must make sure I’m heavily involved in life outside of music to be able to have valid context behind my music. I push myself to keep creating sounds that are different, not repetitive and match the theme that I’m trying to achieve.”
“In order to do that, I understand that my mind needs to recharge sometimes to maintain a higher quality of work,” he continued. “Therefore, I engage myself with hobbies that include playing soccer, traveling, spending time with friends. I try to be fully present in that activity and nothing else, which keeps my mind balanced and ready to focus again when I’m back in the studio.”
