At the time, he invested everything in his college years; scholarships, financial aid, and part-time earnings into courses and resources to launch his first few online businesses. Unfortunately, most of his stores failed, and he soon found himself deep in debt, couch surfing, and eating ramen for months.
“I had launched dozens of Shopify stores before my first profitable month. I did the bare minimum in school to get by and spent countless hours daily learning skills to improve my business,” vvill explains.
Fortunately, vvill overcame the many challenges by being relentlessly persistent. He was driven by Russ’ words that “you must work in the dark for your light to shine.” Surrounding himself with other like-minded individuals and consuming inspirational and biographical content helped him get through the most challenging days. vvill believes that some of these experiences warmed up and prepared him for what awaited him in the music industry. “I’m sure I’ll encounter similar experiences, but it’s important to never give up,” says vvill.
vvill now believes that failure, rejection, and glass ceilings are constants for achieving your goals. You have to be extraordinarily resilient and optimistic because no one else will do that for you, not your family or friends. So, work hard and never listen to naysayers who have nothing much to offer. Focus on your dreams, and it will be just a matter of time before you bring your dreams to life.
