Canadian artist st4r has been creating a lot of buzz around himself. He recently released his record titled, “Mind” and it has been getting major attention. The young superstar came with a very nostalgic feel on this record and flexed his vocals a bit. In just one week “Mind” did 20k streams on Spotify and continues to rise, if that doesn’t tell you it’s a banger then you’re missing out. This song is perfect for a sunny day on the beach or a late-night cruise through the city.
He has always been musical but says that he started taking it seriously about 5 years ago. He is very different from the typical artist from Mississauga and prides himself on being original. A solid comparison of what to expect from him is like that of XXXTENTACION and a similar delivery style to Ty Fontaine. Ironically, when we asked him who his dream collaboration would be he said, “it would probably have to be with Xxxtentacion. The energy he carried as a musician and as a person was unmatched. I also admire his versatility as an artist.” His unique style is growing his career at rapid speed and he makes it look easy!
He initially gained attention with the release of his song “Go Broke!” which has done over 50k streams across all platforms and would spark something in his supporters. He began to consistently release music and take his branding very seriously. He has managed to have over 25k fans listening to his music monthly and over 150k streams on Spotify alone in little to no time. With millions on his mind and a lot of things ahead of him, we wanted to ask him what he would tell his younger self if he got the chance and he said, “If I could go back in time I would tell my younger self to find a healthy balance between aspects in your life. I felt like when I was in high school I’d be caught up with distractions instead of doing what I do best. I mean, there’s nothing wrong with going out, meeting people and having a good time. Life is about experiences, but there has to be some sort of balance.
st4r has so many different styles and elements to his music and will likely find himself working with massive stars in today’s industry. Heavily co-signed by decorated artist OYABUN and loved by his community, there is nothing this young artist can’t achieve. He says that what’s next for him is, “perfecting my craft and taking over the world.” Follow st4r (@st4rsdead) on all social media platforms and stay connected!
