DJ Cassius Cain Is One Of The Music Industry’s Most Legendary DJ’s

The legend DJ Cassius Cain is one of the most underrated Disc Jockey’s in the music industry. Haling from Detroit, Michigan the home of Motown Records, his rich love for music started at a young age. 

After purchasing a keyboard and turntable while attending Full Sail University, he fell in love with the art of Djing and has not looked back since! With over 70,000 mixtapes handed out his influence of southern Hip-hop continues to take over the Atlanta music scene. There is much to expect from this iconic DJ as the industry shifts its focus to the real key players in the industry.

The Source: What first got you into music?

DJ Cassius Cain: My sister when I was younger used to play the saxophone and it always seemed cool to me, so I started playing the saxophone in the 5th grade following her footsteps. Also my great grandmother used to play the piano and my grandmother and mother were singers. So I was always surrounded by music. I enjoy creativity and the art of music. 

The Source: Who inspired you to make music?

DJ Cassius Cain: A lot of my family does music and the community growing up listening to beats and others rappers was very enjoyable

The Source: How would you describe the music that you typically create?

DJ Cassius Cain: The music I create is urban hip hop /rap. I also enjoy making lofi beats

The Source: What is your creative 

process like?

DJ Cassius Cain: Easy! I get a couple artist I like put em together on a dope beat with a dope producer and we go in the studio and cook it up and make master pieces lol

The Source: Who would you most like to collaborate with?

DJ Cassius Cain: All time it would be Outkast, in todays time Kodak Black

The Source: If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?

DJ Cassius Cain: Kodak Black

The Source: What is one message you would give to your fans?

DJ Cassius Cain: Stay down! The music game requires a lot of resilience and the best man wins, it all comes down to when it’s your time and only God knows that. So just stay consistent

The Source: What is the most useless talent you have?

DJ Cassius Cain: All my talents are lit and are useful lol

The Source: Do you sing in the shower? What songs?

DJ Cassius Cain: Uhhhhhh I “Rap” in the shower lol

The Source: What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?

DJ Cassius Cain: I’m a car enthusiast so I would probably own a customizing detail shop or be on the drag strip

The Source: Where have you performed? What are your favourite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?

DJ Cassius Cain: I’ve done Messiah Fest which is a concert series that I curate in Los Angeles, Chicago, Orlando, SXSW, A3C, Atlanta, and New Orleans and has had over 10,000 in attendance total

The Source: How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?

DJ Cassius Cain: It has impacted it in positive and negative ways. But the future is technology so you just have to keep creating and reinvent yourself with the world

The Source: What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?

DJ Cassius Cain: Uhhhh I don’t want to say, I’m not a saint I have put myself in some sticky situations

DJ Cassius Cain: “Listen to the message, and not necessarily who it’s coming from”

DJ Cassius Cain: Things being more physical than digital

DJ Cassius Cain: My album, singles and Messiah Fest
