Rees RP is a unique artist true to his smooth flow and genuine lyrics. Born and raised in Detroit, with Texan influences, he is moving within a lane of his own to show just how versatile of an artist he is. Mixing Hip Hop, RnB, and Pop influences in his music, he builds a story and an impact on his audience with each new track. He states that family has been his influence in music, “I do music in honor of those family members who aren’t here with me but were here when I started.” Passionate and talented, he took an interest in music at an early age as he dove into playing piano, guitar, drums, the flute, and many more instruments. Along with his hobbies in sports and songwriting, he combined these skill sets to create a foundation for his distinct sound.
As time passed, maturity and responsibilities became an important quality in his life, Rees RP knew his new direction would be imperative. As he talks about a traumatic past in his life, Reese reveals “I couldn’t get out of trouble after high school. During this phase of becoming a man, it was hard trying to appease the lifestyle I was living and also handle my responsibilities.” The turning point was his son that propelled him to be the artist he is today. Further focusing on music, Rees RP saw accomplishments like radio plays, starting an independent label BHBB, and viral performances along his career. More success is definitely near for him with his newly released album “Honor”. Honoring his family, notably his brother, he proves he is an artist that is worth watching out for.
