Mike Tetreault Has Brought Hip-Hop Culture Into Real Estate

Mike “Tate” Tetreault is not your average real estate broker. Also a seasoned vet in this music industry he’s injected hip-hop culture into his real estate brokerage “The Tate Team”.

At 30 years old he’s already done stuff other people dream of. From being a music producer, to interviewing artists on the radio, to doing management and being on tour with some of hip-hop’s biggest acts, it’s no surprise he’s taking off in real estate as well.

Growing up in Fitchburg, MA a rough drug-ridden town about an hour outside of Boston, MA, he’s definitely made it out and then some. Asked about how he has the confidence to do what he’s done in the music industry and now run his own real estate business all still while being so untraditional and outspoken he replied:

“I remember one day in my early 20’s I had a meeting at Roc Nation in New York and I got out of the elevator and in front of me was Jay-Z. Jay freaking Z. I froze for like a second and he shook my hand and smiled. It sounds silly but after that moment I really gained the confidence that I could get in a room with anyone and do anything I put my mind to.” says Mike “Tate” Tetreault.

His newfound confidence really put him on the map. Fast forward to 2019, and his bright personality, negotiation, and management skills landed him on tour with the likes of superstar rappers Future, Meek Mill, and Megan Thee Stallion.

“That tour changed my life. I was around real superstars everyday and witnessed the work ethic and skillset it takes to be in that upper echelon. I was getting a free Phd in success and learned many things that I apply to my real estate business today. Shout out to my brother Test for convincing me to go on that tour. ” says Mike “Tate” Tetreault.

Only open since June 2021, The Tate Team real estate brokerage is already in 5 states and is one of the youngest and most diverse real estate companies in the nation. Tate credits this to his leadership skills but also his upbringing with hip-hop and how that pushed him to meet people from all walks of life.

“I want everyone who works for me to be themselves and be their own superstars, I want other companies to be afraid of the changes we’re making. I want to educate my friends in hip-hop that real estate is a wealth building tool that they can make use of too. Real estate shouldn’t just be for a certain class of people, it can be for everyone. I feel like the time is right to break down barriers and change the way things have been done. We’re going to make a lot of money and have fun doing so at the same time.” says Mike “Tate” Tetreault.
