Ashley Francois is a professional singer-songwriter and rapper from Sarasota, Florida. His professional career in music commenced with his single Manic, which was released in 2019. Thereafter, his debut album, Don’t Feel Entitled, achieved number 2 on independent music awards in 2021, propelling his career in the industry to new heights and wider appeal.
Ashley Francois was born as one of four brothers to a single mother in Brooklyn N.Y. As a child, though the music was always something he held a fascination for, it never held quite the significance as it does today; indeed, while growing up, he instead actively pursued a career in basketball, pushing himself to the limits to further his basketball skills.
However, while this was always something that he found exciting, after attending the University of Central Florida, he soon discovered that basketball had begun to lose its appeal as a career opportunity. Instead, he began working towards a career in music, and he has never looked back since.
After leaving the University of Central Florida, Ashley Francois worked actively to pursue his music career, actively studying other artists’ skills and styles throughout 2016 to help develop his own taste. From there, he began ghostwriting songs for other local artists and eventually managed to get his work featured on SoundCloud after an eight-hour-long song contest to create a hit record. This would go on to provide a massive boost to his reputation overall.
After his success with the SoundCloud competition, Ashley Francois’ next project, Don’t Feel Entitled, won his first independent music award for the best hip hop album, as well as achieved a prize in the highly credited John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
Ashley Francois now aspires to continue growing his career to new heights, and he works tirelessly to create new music that will appeal to his fanbase and wider audiences.
