Success in the music industry is hard to come by. With hundreds of thousands of aspiring musicians and a limited number of coveted spots, it’s challenging to make it big. One producer is on his way up, but he doesn’t rely on luck or chance for success. His name is Jake Silva, and he started at small-time at local bars in Long Island, NY. Jake has become one of the top DJs in New York City, New Jersey, and Miami by working tirelessly and not letting any distractions derail him from his mission.
When he was just starting out, Jake woke up at 4 a.m. to hone his skills before going to his day job in construction. He relentlessly pursued success and played in small bars around Long Island, where he always stole the evening because of his passion.
“I have no shame in speaking on the mic and dancing with everybody to make everyone have a great time, and I love every second of it,” Jake shares. His background in engineering and old-school training in music also make him outstanding compared to other producers. “A lot of times, I have DJs asking me, ‘Where’d you get your music from?’ and ‘How can I get that track?’”
The success Jake enjoys today did not come overnight. He reveals he lost more deals than he got on his way up, but he never stopped hoping for better-quality gigs. This level of determination helped him break into the top tier of New York City DJs, and he’s not stopping there. Jake’s dream is to perform in the biggest music festivals in the world, such as Ultra, Tomorrowland, and Ezoo.
