J Aktive is an independent artist from the United States, who has gained a lot of attention and success in the music industry. He started his musical journey at a very young age, singing in front of his church every Sunday, where his aunt was the choir director and his cousins managed the music ministry. In the third grade, he learned to play the saxophone, which taught him how to read and write music. By the time he was a preteen, he was recording his first songs and uploading them on Myspace. He moved to Downtown Los Angeles at the age of 22, where he created Aktivate Productions, directing and editing music videos for other artists. After years of being behind the scenes in the music industry, he decided to take his music career into his own hands and became a full-time artist.
J Aktive executively produces all of his own music, working closely with his engineer, Yoji Roby, to enhance every aspect of the song to execute his original vision. While he started off as a beat maker, he prefers to manipulate what other producers create to fit his delivery. He has worked with many producers throughout his career, including Lexi Banks, Quamieyae, and OUHBOY.
J Aktive’s debut album, “Bad Luv,” dropped in 2022, and the leading single “Pist Off” went viral on social media, getting reposted from celebrities such as Janet Jackson, Deion Sanders, Mario Lopez, Dougie Fresh, and many others alike. With all the attention, “Bad Luv” LP reached over 3 million streams across all streaming platforms. In 2023, he plans to release 20 uniquely different new singles, experimenting with different styles of music and new sounds. He also has something special planned for his fans, a new single with a Platinum Selling artist this spring.
