Pete Carroll is out as head coach of the Seattle Seahawks. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Carroll is expected to remain in the organization in a different role.

The Seahawks now join the Commanders, Chargers, Raiders, Panthers, Falcons, and Titans as teams with head coaching vacancies.

“After thoughtful meetings and careful consideration for the best interest of the franchise, we have amicably agreed with Pete Carroll that his role will evolve from Head Coach to remain with the organization as an advisor,” a statement from Seahawks’ owner Jody Allen reads.

Schefter also notes the Seahawks are looking to bring in Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn as a potential replacement. Quinn lead worked with the team in 2009-2010 and 2013-14.
