Straffa Boy, best known for his hit single ‘No More,’ always keeps his hometown of Washington DC at the forefront of his music. He just released his latest single “Know Nuffin,” which is available on all streaming platforms. The song was inspired by his day to day life and up-bringing. He was taught at an early age that the less you know, the better and when it comes to minding anyone’s business but his own, he definitely doesn’t know nuffin.

“Basically growing up where I’m from, we were taught to mind our business, not tell on people,” said Straffa. “You have to hold water and not to gossip.”

The DC Native is no stranger to the music business. He was co-signed by DJ Akademiks in earlier this year. Prior to going independent in 2011 he was the lead vocalist of one of the most notable DC Gogo Band’s Metro Boys. The first rap he ever wrote was called Landover Errywhere and was in rotation at DC’s #1 Radio station 93.9 WKYS. Growing up in a heavily music driven city, it was only right that Straffa became an artist.

His music can best be described as rap mixed with melodic pain. His inspirations include Lil Wayne, Jay Z, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Boosie. For him, it’s about being able to tell stories from his real-life experiences and release pain.

“Music is important to me because it became a form of therapy for me,” said Straffa. “I lost a lot of important people close to me at an early age and music helped me cope with it.”

Straffa is currently working on his highly anticipated EP Born Ready, which is set to be released this summer. He is currently managed by business entrepreneur Rob Willie. For more information on Straffa, be sure to check out his Instagram @straffaboy.
