Following the Kansas City Chiefs’ tough 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, Patrick Mahomes remains unsure whether star tight end Travis Kelce will return for another NFL season.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Mahomes, 29, said he wants to give Kelce, 35, space to make his own decision after a grueling season. “He’s given so much to this team and to the NFL,” Mahomes said. “And he’s been such a joy, not only for me to work with, but for people to watch.”
While acknowledging the uncertainty, Mahomes added that Kelce “still has a lot of football left in him,” pointing to his ability to deliver in critical moments. Chiefs fans will now wait to see whether Kelce returns for another run or decides to hang up his cleats.
