SOURCE SPORTS: Former Mets Catcher Paul LoDuca Involved in ‘Bad Accident,’ Suffered Several Broken Bones

Former Mets star Paul Lo Duca recently revealed that he was involved in a serious accident, resulting in several broken bones.

The 11-year MLB vet shared the health update with his 70K followers on X (formerly known as Twitter) Wednesday morning, explaining that the incident occurred as he was returning to New York from Oaklawn.

While Lo Duca didn’t provide many specifics about the accident, he did mention that his injuries were so severe that he was unable to eat for the first few weeks of his recovery.

The 52-year-old former MLB player reassured fans that his recovery is progressing well, adding, “I’m getting stronger!” along with a flexed bicep emoji.

Lo Duca, a four-time All-Star, has remained active on social media despite his physical condition. Earlier this month, he posted updates about Super Bowl LIX and the NBA trade deadline.

Lo Duca’s MLB career spanned 11 years, with stints at the Dodgers, Mets, Nationals, and Marlins. He last played in the majors in 2008, with 2006-07 being his years in Queens. After retiring from baseball, he transitioned to working as a horse racing analyst.
