Megan Thee Stallion has received court approval to depose Tory Lanez under oath for the first time since he shot her in 2020. A federal judge signed the order Monday, allowing Megan, born Megan Pete, to question Lanez remotely while he serves a 10-year sentence in a California prison.
The deposition is part of Megan’s ongoing defamation and cyberstalking lawsuit against YouTube blogger Milagro Gramz, whom she accuses of spreading false rumors as Lanez’s “paid surrogate.” Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, declined to testify at his 2022 trial but is now appealing his conviction. According to Rolling Stone, His response to questioning remains uncertain, as he could invoke his Fifth Amendment right.
Pete sued Gramz last October, alleging a smear campaign that included false claims of alcoholism and deepfake pornography. Gramz sought dismissal, citing journalistic protections, but a judge ruled that Pete presented a strong case of reckless disregard for the truth, allowing the lawsuit to proceed.
