Travis Scott Sees Wrestling as Thrilling Alternative to Hip Hop

Here we go, the great rap exodus from rap to wrestling. Kidding. But ge this, following his appearance at WWE’s Elimination Chamber event, Travis Scott has expressed a newfound enthusiasm for professional wrestling, suggesting it might rival his passion for music.

In a video shared all over socials, Scott reflected on his experience in the wrestling ring, stating, “Bro, this might be better than, low-key, performing.” He described the atmosphere as “a whole ‘nother vibe,” adding, “It was so crazy because in the ring I was like, ‘We about to be straight bad guys.’” He concluded with, “And I was like, ‘Oh, it’s about to hit.’”

What’s more, motivated by his experience, Scott revealed plans to incorporate wrestling into his personal life, saying, “I’m going to the ring tomorrow! I’m about to build a ring in all the cribs.”

At a press conference after the event, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson praised Scott’s enthusiasm, explaining, “He wanted to get his hands bloody.” He recalled advising Scott before his entrance, “I said, ‘if you’re gonna get your hands bloody, make it count. Make it count.’” Johnson noted Scott’s high energy, “He slapped the s— of Cody tonight. He was really, really hyped up.”

Johnson highlighted Scott’s deep connection to the wrestling world, stating, “We get guys and girls like that who want to come in and who are already tapping in culture and disrupting culture in their own cool way.” He emphasized Scott’s genuine desire to be involved, saying, “But then some want to get involved and then some, like Travis, deeply want to get involved.”

During his quick moment in the ring, Scott’s actions had real consequences, as Cody Rhodes reportedly sustained a ruptured eardrum and a black eye. Wrestling analyst Dave Meltzer commented, “Cody got hurt. I’m pretty sure it was Travis Scott that did it.” He noted that Rhodes was treated at a local hospital and discharged, although WWE has yet to confirm the injury.
