Oh really? In a surprising revelation, Ma$e expressed that he would be open to visiting his former label boss, Diddy, in jail despite their tumultuous history. During a recent episode of his It Is What It Is podcast, Ma$e shared some heartfelt thoughts about his relationship with the music mogul.
This is a big deal as it stands. Despite their complex past, Ma$e made it clear that he values the good aspects of their relationship, especially the opportunities he was given in the music industry.
Like we said, wow.
While reflecting on his emotions at Voletta Wallace’s funeral, Ma$e told his co-host, Cam’ron, that the memorial felt like “the end of an era.” He also admitted feeling too emotional to speak with some of the attendees at the service. Cam’ron, known for his humor, jokingly asked Ma$e if he felt uncomfortable seated near Diddy’s son at the funeral. Ma$e didn’t confirm or deny his seating arrangement but did express his willingness to support Diddy if the opportunity arose.
“I mean, if my name was on the list, I’d go visit Puff, you know?” Ma$e said, offering a rare insight into his feelings. “I would visit him, make sure that he’s good.”
When Cam’ron asked why Ma$e hadn’t reached out to Diddy when he was out, Ma$e responded thoughtfully, “These are the times you need people to check up and make sure you’re good. And not that I condone anything that they’re alleged to have done, just until they prove it, you kind of want to make sure that you don’t be like one of those people that, somebody did good for you…he didn’t do all bad, he did some good.”
Check this part out: As he clarified his stance further, Ma$e added, “I’m not talking about the tape stuff and all that. I’m talking about just the musical side, giving me an opportunity. I think, as a person of class, you definitely got to show up and sit somewhere in the court, if they let you.”
