Eugene “Big U” Henley Jr. was one of multiple members of the Rollin’ 60s Crip faction arrested by federal authorities.

According to NBC-4 Los Angeles, Big U, 58, is a resident of the Hyde Park area of Los Angeles and the leader of a “mafia-like” criminal organization. The U.S. Attorney’s Office stated that Big U Enterprise operated in association with the Rollin’ 60s gang.

Henley is accused of leading a series of racketeering crimes, including extortion, human trafficking, fraud, and the murder of an aspiring rapper in 2021.

Authorities stated Henley presented himself as an anti-gang activist and received government grants for his charity, but they were instead used for criminal activity.

“The allegations in the complaint unsealed today reveal a criminal enterprise that engaged in murder, extortion, human trafficking, and fraud – all led by a supposed anti-gang activist and purported music entrepreneur who was nothing more than a violent street criminal,” said Acting United States Attorney Joseph McNally.

Henley is charged with conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. On Tuesday morning, arrest warrants were executed, and four people were already in custody. Ten more were taken in on Monday.

“But the Big U Enterprise allegedly used it as a front for fraudulent purposes and to insulate its members from suspicion by law enforcement,” the DOJ said in a statement. “Henley allegedly embezzled large donations that celebrities and award-winning companies made to Developing Options, which Henley immediately converted to his personal bank account.”

The aforementioned aspiring rapper was signed to Uneek Music, Henley’s label. The artist was paid to travel to Las Vegas. The rapper did not oblige, opting to record a diss song toward Big U. Authorities allege Big U drove to Las Vegas, killed him, and ditched the body off Interstate 15.
