The Los Angeles Dodgers, the world champions, have accepted an invitation to the White House to celebrate their championship. The team will visit President Trump and the White House on April 7, the same day it travels to play the Washington Nationals.
“It wasn’t a formal conversation that we had as a ballclub,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said to ESPN. “It’s certainly a huge honor to get the invitation to the White House. It allows us to celebrate our 2024 championship. To my understanding, every World Series champion gets that honor, so it’s a great honor for all of us.”
Earlier this month, the Philadelphia Eagles also decided to visit the White House. They will visit on April 28.
