Playboi Carti’s ‘MUSIC’ Holds No. 1 Spot on Billboard 200 for Second Week

Playboi Carti’s long-awaited third studio album, I AM MUSIC, made a massive impact upon its release on Friday (March 14), becoming Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day in 2025 so far.

Playboi Carti’s album MUSIC remains at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a second consecutive week, following its debut at the top with the year’s biggest week for a rap album. In its second week, ending March 27, the album earned 131,000 equivalent album units in the U.S., marking a 56% drop from its first-week tally of 298,000 units.

This achievement makes MUSIC Carti’s second No. 1 album, following Whole Lotta Red in January 2021. Of the 131,000 units, 124,000 were streaming equivalent album (SEA) units, equating to 171.02 million on-demand streams of the set’s songs. Album sales accounted for 7,000 units, while track equivalent album (TEA) units made up a negligible amount.

The deluxe edition, MUSIC – Sorry 4 Da Wait, released on March 25, boosted the album’s performance. It added four new tracks—“Different Day,” “2024,” “Backr00ms,” and “FOMDJ”—originally exclusive to three digital album variants during its debut week. As these tracks became available on streaming platforms, they contributed to the album’s streaming totals in the final days of the tracking week.

With its continued success, MUSIC remains at the forefront of the Top Streaming Albums chart, demonstrating Carti’s ongoing dominance in the rap scene.
