Phony Surgeon Arrested After Butt Implant Removal Patient Left Brain Dead After In-Home ‘Procedure’

What has this world come to? A Queens man posing as a so-called medical professional has been arrested after a woman suffered severe complications during an unauthorized cosmetic procedure in his unlicensed facility.

What the actual F?

Get this, according to court documents released Wednesday (April 2), the 31-year-old woman visited Felipe Hoyos-Foronda’s residence in Ditmars-Steinway for a procedure to remove buttock implants. The 38-year-old, who allegedly claimed to have medical training from Colombia, administered lidocaine via syringe, causing the woman to go into cardiac arrest.

Sadly, the victim was rushed to Mount Sinai Queens Hospital in critical condition. Medical staff reported she was intubated with no brain activity, showing signs consistent with lidocaine toxicity.

After the wild incident, Hoyos-Foronda reportedly fled the scene. When the victim’s friend returned to retrieve belongings, the property owner informed them of what happened and contacted authorities. Police obtained Hoyos-Foronda’s photo and tracked his vehicle heading toward JFK Airport, where he allegedly booked a flight to Colombia.

Of course he did.

He was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and unauthorized practice of a profession. He is held without bail following his Sunday arraignment and is scheduled to return to court on Thursday.

Investigators later discovered the residence was being used as an illegal medical office, containing an exam table, cosmetic injectables, and medical equipment. The building has since been issued a partial vacate order.

As of Wednesday, the victim remained unconscious. The NYPD has released Hoyos-Foronda’s photo through Crime Stoppers, urging anyone with additional information or potential victims to come forward.

Authorities continue to investigate the case. Hopefully, there will be no other victims, and he will face appropriate justice.

Wild times.
