SOURCE SPORTS: Lakers Explode From Deep, Blowout Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder, aiming to solidify their position atop the Western Conference and the NBA overall, were stunned Sunday by a blistering Lakers performance. The conference’s third seed Los Angeles dominated with a 126-99 victory, fueled by a season-high 22 three-pointers and 55% shooting from beyond the arc. This marks only the ninth time a team has achieved such accuracy this season on 40 or more attempts.

Luka Dončić led the charge with 30 points, while LeBron James contributed 19, showcasing their growing on-court chemistry. The Lakers’ offensive efficiency, highlighted by Dončić’s 132.4 offensive rating and James’ 128.2, proved too much for Oklahoma City’s top-ranked defense.

Dončić’s early impact in Los Angeles continues to impress, as he joins Oscar Robertson as the only players since 1950-51 to average 27 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists in their first 25 games with a franchise. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 26 points for the Thunder, extending his streak of 20+ point games to 71, the sixth-longest in NBA history. However, it wasn’t enough to prevent the Lakers from holding OKC to under 100 points for the first time since January 17th, and handing them their second consecutive loss.
