Fresh off the heels of her iTunes #1 hit MOONWALKIN, rising alt-pop provocateur 19MIL returns with a new statement that refuses to play by the rules. Titled “THE RITZ,” her latest single doesn’t just raise the bar—it bends it into a whole new shape. Dark, decadent, and dripping in audacity, THE RITZ isn’t just a song; it’s an attitude.
Known for her sultry, sharp-edged vocal style and genre-fluid artistry, 19MIL calls The Ritz both an evolution and a revolution. “It’s undeniably a continuous display of my alluringly provocative and trendsetting signature sound,” she explains, “but it almost creates a genre of its own.” This is 19 in her element—raw, fearless, and flexing a new level of sonic confidence.
The track’s backbone is built on electric guitar beats, a move the artist hints has been bubbling behind the scenes for a minute. “I’ve been making songs on guitar beats for quite some time now—most of them are still in the vault,” she shares. But THE RITZ brings that concept to life, pairing gritty instrumentation with what she describes as “super sonic vocals… powerful yet light at the same time. An absolutely beautiful mess.”
The record also marks a major milestone in her journey: a hands-on collaboration with producer Mike G, whose résumé reads like a hall of fame—Offset, Snoop Dogg, G-Eazy, Joey Bada$$, and more. “Mike G is the coolest, seriously,” she says. “We worked face-to-face in his studio, which is already legendary… even Carti’s worked there. Being on that list is huge for me.”
But that synergy didn’t spark instantly. “When I first heard the beat, I didn’t even know if I could slide on it,” 19MIL admits. “It was so experimental, with these alien-ish, futuristic rock sounds.” Still, Mike G encouraged her to trust the process—and the risk paid off. “As the lyrics started to fall into place, I knew what we had was really special. Now we have a truly badass masterpiece.”
Thematically, THE RITZ is soaked in self-love, ego, and unapologetic indulgence. “The emotion behind it is really selfishness—but in a good way,” she says. “It’s about ultimate self-respect. Focusing on yourself, giving to yourself, and feeling uplifted by that.”
Lines like “Dream about me, I’m your nightmare” hit like a lyrical sucker punch, serving high drama and dark glamour in one breath. “That line feels like the words I’ve always been trying to find when it comes to describing myself,” she says. “I’m the one they’ve heard about—even my haters are dreaming about me.”
Sonically, 19MIL continues to be influenced by artists like Yeat, but not in the way you’d expect. “THE RITZ doesn’t sound anything like a Yeat track,” she clarifies. “But he’s an entire mindset. He created his own sound, and that inspires me to break boundaries and swerve lanes too.”
And while her music often embraces the chaos of nightlife, THE RITZ flips the scene. “It still channels my wild side,” she says, “but we switched the scenery. Imagine being at THE RITZ Carlton, running the halls, maybe even causing a little scene. But more than that, it’s about envisioning the best, most self-loving version of yourself.”
As far as pressure goes, 19MIL’s not sweating the expectations of following up a hit. If anything, it’s fuel. “The quick traction I’ve gotten doesn’t make me nervous—it pushes me harder. I believe if you’ve done something once, you can do it again… even BËTTËR.”
With THE RITZ, 19MIL doesn’t just step into the spotlight—she owns it, flips it, and makes it luxury.
