Sheesh. Rapper The Game has reportedly forfeited ownership of his Calabasas home following a legal battle tied to a 2015 civil lawsuit filed by reality television personality Priscilla Rainey. As reported by AllHipHop, a judge has now ordered the property to be transferred to help cover the $7.13 million judgment awarded to Rainey.
The court’s recent decision to seize the Calabasas property represents one of the most significant steps taken to enforce the judgment.
ICYMI, the case originated after Rainey accused the rapper—whose real name is Jayceon Taylor—of misconduct during filming of the VH1 dating show She’s Got Game, in which she appeared as a contestant.
Here’s what you should know concerning The Game’s position. He has continuously denied the claims. In a previously shared Instagram post, he stated, “Every girl on that show will tell you I never touched this chick or ever desired to be anywhere near her. She got kicked off the show, and as a result, she filed this lame lawsuit—which was probably her intention before the show even started.”
Moreover, he added, “She was begging for my attention the entire time we shot the show & was given the ultimate Major League Baseball CURVE ball so that upset her.”
After The Game failed to appear in court to respond to the lawsuit, a default judgment was entered in Rainey’s favor. The court awarded her $7.13 million in damages as a result.
Despite the serious ruling, The Game has made it clear in the past that he had no plans to comply with the financial judgment. In a 2020 Instagram post, he downplayed the lawsuit. He expressed frustration over the continued public attention, saying, “People out here dying from the rona and blogs out here creating false narratives for this Waffle House roach who doing anything her thirsty a## can to try and take money from me. I’m enjoying retirement! Y’all been saying she got $7 million for 7 years, and yet here I am, laid up tipsy off my 5th quarantine [drink], watching Tiger King, lol.”
