GRAMMY award-winning, multi-platinum artist and humanitarian 21 Savage, through his Leading By Example Foundation, has partnered with Wealthy Habits to introduce a new financial literacy education series for young people. The initiative kicked off with a live panel launch event held at Miller Grove High School in DeKalb County.
This program aligns with the Leading By Example Foundation’s ongoing mission to equip the next generation with crucial financial knowledge. Throughout this week, students from five DeKalb County schools – Miller Grove High School, Salem Middle School, Panola Way Elementary School, Peachtree Middle School, and Bethune Middle School – will participate in engaging 90-minute financial literacy sessions. These workshops will incorporate hands-on simulations, guided discussions, and open Q&A sessions tailored to different age groups and grade levels.
The launch event featured an insightful panel discussion moderated by Michael Early, a financial advisor at Wells Fargo. Panelists included Danielle Ball, Executive Director of the Leading By Example Foundation; Kimmuel Bryan-Joseph, Accountant/AR Specialist and 21 Savage’s brother; and Tammy Brook, Founder/CEO of FYI Brand Group & Co-founder of Get to Yes Productions. Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson also spoke, commending the initiative as a significant investment in the county’s youth.
Over 400 students from the participating schools attended the launch, where they heard inspiring stories and received practical advice on managing money and building financial freedom. Each student will also receive a complimentary financial literacy handbook to reinforce the lessons learned during the week. This event marks the beginning of fourteen planned sessions this week, all aimed at helping Atlanta youth cultivate sound financial habits early in life, establishing a strong groundwork for their future financial well-being.
