In late 2023, a video of Diddy assaulting Cassie at the Intercontinental Hotel rocked Hip-Hop. But how did a video from 2016 make it to 2023 without being seen? We have had many revelations about Diddy’s life around that time, but testimonies this week in his trial reveal the mogul paid to conceal the tape.
A security guard from the hotel, Eddie Garcia, revealed that he did not call law enforcement because Cassie did not request it. He was later contacted by Diddy’s chief of staff, Kristina Khorram, who later appeared at the hotel and demanded the video.
Garcia revealed that the footage was bad, only to receive a call later from Diddy, nervously asking for the video. Subsequent calls came from Khorram and Diddy, eventually leading Garcia to agree to hand over the video for $50,000. According to TMZ, Garcia states his supervisor, Bill Medrano, suggested a sale price of $50,000. Diddy agreed immediately.
Medrano allegedly took the video off the server, placed it on a hard drive, and gave it to Garcia to complete the deal. Diddy wanted identification from Garcia, Medrano, and the responding officer, Israel Florez. Instead, they offered Henry Elias, another officer, because they didn’t believe Florez would comply.
Garcia said Diddy used a money machine to count $100,000 for the security team and allegedly told him to be careful with how he spent it. Garcia used his portion to buy a car.
