
Beyoncé is now a Primetime Emmy Award winner. The Television Academy announced Tuesday that the superstar took home the honor in a juried category ahead of the 77th Emmy Awards.
She won in the category of outstanding costumes for variety, nonfiction or reality programming for her Netflix special Beyoncé Bowl. According to Billboard, Beyoncé shares the award with fellow costume designer Shiona Turini, assistant costume designers Erica Rice and Molly Peters, costume supervisor Chelsea Staebell, and head of workroom Timothy White.
The win recognizes the team’s work in bringing bold, intricate, and culturally resonant looks to the special, which has been praised for its visual storytelling.
These juried awards will be officially presented at the 77th Creative Arts Emmy Awards, set for September 6 and 7 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. An edited presentation will air September 13 at 8 p.m. PT on FXX.
