Northstar & Tha Dogg Pound Deliver Historic Collaboration with “Bee Stings & Bark Bites”

Wu-Tang Clan–affiliated duo Northstar has officially dropped their long-awaited single “Bee Stings & Bark Bites”, bringing together Christbearer and the late Meko The Pharaoh with West Coast legends Kurupt and Daz Dillinger of Tha Dogg Pound.

More than a decade in the making, the track unites two powerhouse legacies — Wu-Tang’s West Coast Killa Beez and Death Row’s DPGC — in a full-circle moment. Before RZA signed Northstar as the first West Coast group on the Wu-Tang roster, the Long Beach duo had close ties to Death Row through L.T. Hutton, making this collaboration feel like unfinished history finally completed.

The single arrives in two distinct versions: the Shaolin Mix, a raw and razor-edged cut built for Wu-Tang purists, and the G-Funk Remix, soaked in West Coast groove and bounce. Christbearer and Meko hold down the Wu side with sharp, story-driven verses, while Kurupt and Daz deliver their trademark grit and lyrical precision.

Accompanying the release is a stylized animated video — a surreal, symbolic clash between hive and hound — visually capturing the cultural exchange at the heart of the track.

“Bee Stings & Bark Bites” also serves as the second single from Northstar’s upcoming album Northstar Forever, recorded partly in London with producer Shaka Amazulu the 7th. The album includes Meko’s final recordings before his passing, making it both a tribute and a continuation of the group’s spiritual-meets-street storytelling first heard on their RZA-presented debut.

With this release, Northstar isn’t just revisiting their roots — they’re reigniting a Wu-Tang–West Coast connection that remains as powerful today as it was in hip-hop’s golden era.

The track is now streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and Bandcamp, with the animated video live on YouTube.
