Toraya Reid, the 28-year-old sister of Minnesota Timberwolves center Naz Reid, was killed in a shooting Saturday morning at the Paragon Apartment complex in Jackson Township, New Jersey.
According to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Reid was found near the exit of the complex with multiple gunshot wounds. Police responded to a call around 11 a.m. and discovered her unresponsive. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities identified the suspect as 29-year-old Shaquille Green, who was in a dating relationship with Reid. Green has been charged with murder and several weapons violations. He was spotted fleeing on North New Prospect Road but was taken into custody without incident.
In a statement, prosecutors said, “A subsequent investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Jackson Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit identified Green as the individual responsible for her death.”
Following the tragedy, Toraya and Naz Reid’s sister publicly referred to the accused killer as a “coward.”
Naz Reid, who recently signed a three-year extension with the Timberwolves and played a pivotal role in the team’s playoff run last season, has not yet issued a public statement about his sister’s death.
Green is being held on the murder charge as the investigation continues.
