MarQus Romelle is a dynamic singer, songwriter, dancer, and choreographer
hailing from Chapeltown, Leeds in the UK. His journey into the music industry
began under the mentorship of the late Stedman Pearson of the legendary pop
group Five Star. With Stedman’s guidance, MarQus honed his craft as both a
dancer and choreographer, joining him in solo projects and later touring alongside
Stedman and his sister Denise Pearson across Europe and the Caribbean,
performing as both a singer and dancer.
That invaluable experience paved the way for MarQus to embark on his own solo
journey. His first promo single, “Now U Know,” opened doors to extensive tours
across the UK unsigned circuit and earned him 3rd place out of over 10,000
entrants in the Live & Unsigned UK Competition. This momentum led to recognition
from BBC/1Xtra and the opportunity to record in Los Angeles with acclaimed
producers and writers who had previously worked with icons like *NSYNC, Toni
Braxton, Usher, and Gladys Knight. He was also nominated for a prestigious
Vodafone Music Award.
Beyond the stage, MarQus contributed to the soundtrack of the independent British
film C.O.O.L.I.O, where he not only wrote and recorded one of its featured tracks
and score but also made an on-screen appearance as the enforcer “Manpower.”
Just as his career was gaining speed, life took an unexpected turn. MarQus was
struck with a rare and debilitating illness that left him completely immobilised and
nearly cost him his life on three separate occasions halting his career at the
brink of a record deal. Doctors were uncertain whether he would walk again, let
alone return to the stage. Yet through sheer determination, relentless
physiotherapy, and unwavering resilience, he fought his way back. His comeback
saw him grace stages such as the MVSA Awards in Birmingham, The International
Fitness Showcase, and the Coca-Cola Energy Tour, while also being curated by
UnitedMasters Publishing.
After another battle with ill health, MarQus returned stronger than ever, reborn with
a renewed sense of purpose. His internationally acclaimed Afro-Latin flavoured
R&B single “Your Eyes” showcased his soulful roots while weaving in his diverse
cultural influences. The single was followed by an official music video and a
behind-the-scenes feature, highlighting his creative vision and flair for storytelling
through dynamic visuals. Most recently, he dropped the high-energy “Don’t Stop”
(BNTB Remix) a Jersey Club, Dance-Pop, R&B fusion track that’s steadily
gaining traction worldwide.
With his resilience, artistry, and unshakable passion, MarQus Romelle stands as
proof that setbacks can be transformed into a powerful comeback. His music is not
just entertainment it’s a reflection of survival, perseverance, and the undeniable
spirit of an artist destined to leave his mark.
